Scholarships

Risk Management Scholarships

Risk management scholarships are offered to promote risk management. These are most often awarded to allow persons to attend risk management educational events that would otherwise not be financially possible. We seek employees who are in a position to make important contributions to risk management within their school system. There are a number of employees that fit this description. Some have titles like ‘Risk Manager’ or ‘Safety Specialist’ while others may be responsible for risk management and loss control in addition to other duties.

Risk management scholarships cover the cost of registration and travel to the Public Risk Management Association’s (PRIMA) Governmental Risk Management Seminar (GRMS), PRIMA’s Annual Conference or the EPA's Annual Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools National Symposium.

Employees may be nominated for a scholarship in the following ways:

  • Trustee recommendation
  • Recommendation by the employee’s supervisor, department director, or school superintendent
  • Recommendation by MABE staff

Risk Management Awards

We also will provide monetary awards to any child who successfully submits an article that is published in our SafetyNews. These are available to any child currently enrolled in our public schools. We will also consider articles submitted by an employee of a member of MABE. Selection of articles to be published are determined by the Editor of the SafetyNews.

Please submit any articles to either of the Risk Management Officers listed below for consideration.

For more information on Risk Management Scholarships or awards, contact either of the Risk Management Officers for MABE.
