WHAT IS RISK MANAGEMENT? 

Managing risk is about making informed choices with regard to reducing the probability and or severity of an adverse event.  MABE provides its members with options to manage these risks through a combination of historical loss analysis, hazard identification and risk assessment, risk retention, risk avoidance, risk transfer (through insurance or contractual vehicles), and training to raise awareness. 

We strive to enhance the school communities of our members by embracing and supporting effective risk management strategies.  Within the following pages, you will find a variety of resources and materials to support these strategies.
