MABE's legislative activities during the Special Session of 2011 focused on alerting the Governor and members of the General Assembly to our legislative priorities in anticipation of the regular 2012 Session. More information is available on the Priority Issues page, including a brief PowerPoint presentation focusing on the call for legislation to make Maintenance of Effort the local funding floor.
In addition, MABE's advocacy efforts continue through the "Interim", or nine months of the year when the General Assembly is not in session. 2011 Interim updates and materials on legislative and regulatory issues are provided below. More detailed information on the regulatory actions of the State Board of Education is available in the Monitor.
