This year’s conference will be held at the beautiful Westin Hotel in downtown Annapolis. MABE’s Conference Program Committee, co-chaired by Pat Dorsey (Carroll County) and Carol Mueller (Harford County), is building a thought-provoking, robust agenda on the most timely issues of the day for school board members. Our dynamic program will highlight key issues facing boards of education, while providing meaningful opportunities for attendees to connect with their peers, exchange valuable ideas, and build relationships with colleagues from throughout Maryland.

We’re excited to share that Dr. Carey Wright, State Superintendent of Schools, is confirmed to deliver remarks for the conference. We also are eager to hear keynote remarks from Dr. Marguerite Roza, Research Professor and Edunomics Lab Director at Georgetown University, who leads the prestigious McCourt School of Public Policy’s Certificate in Education Finance. Dr. Roza’s expertise in federal-, state-, and district-level fiscal policies and their implications on resources for school systems will no doubt lead to thought-provoking discussions at this year’s Annual Conference.
